Sr. Product Manager (Data Protection)

A high-energy startup in Buckhead is looking for a Sr. Product Manager to develop the positioning, messaging and go-to-market materials for their Data Protection functionality. In this role, you’ll partner with our Sales, Product, Customer Success, and Business Strategy teams to deliver high-impact product positioning, collateral, use cases, and sales training materials. Your main focus will be on translating the value of our security functionality to IT and security professionals. This position requires a poised self-starter with a background in security SaaS products who can run with direction and take initiative in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a deep understanding of our users, customer journeys, competition, technology, team, and internal business strategy / goals
  • Translate product strategy into well-articulated business requirements, using qualitative and quantitative data effectively to inform product direction and prioritization
  • Manage and prioritize the product backlog
  • Manage the product lifecycle from strategic planning to tactical activities
  • Work with product marketing to develop pricing, positioning and messaging
  • Serve as a product subject matter expert for sales, sales engineers, customer success, support and professional services
  • Establish and nurture relationships with key industry analysts
  • Evangelize the product and company externally, establishing yourself as a thought leader in the market

Requirements

  • 5+ years of product management experience
  • 3+ years experience and subject matter expertise in data security
  • Excellent analytical skills with demonstrated experience turning data into actionable insights
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent problem solving skills
  • Superb written and oral communication skills, with an ability to handle both executive-level discussions as well as functional / technical deep dives
  • Leadership through influence rather than organization structures. Proven ability to motivate, lead, and collaborate with cross-functional product teams and manage interactions across engineering, design, marketing and operations
  • Experience working in a continuous delivery environment using Agile/SCRUM methodologies
  • Bachelor’s Degree from four-year college or university. MBA a "plus"
