Sr. DevOps Engineer

Our client out of the Atlanta area is an innovative, technology-focused company providing a full-service platform to support the payment processing needs for merchants of all sizes. Responsibilities:

• Write code to build configurations, entegrate systems, and automating systems tasks. Proven ability to code one or more of Bash, Go, Python, Javascript, or Java
• Integrate systems using REST, TCP/IP, JSON and others
• Provide administration and operations of the Kafka platform like provisioning, access lists Kerberos and SSL configurations and Configuring Kafka for Performance and Resource Management.
• Enforce security best practices that are compliant with various data classifications (PCI, SOC).
• Troubleshoot, reproduce and solve challenging operational issues in a complex enterprise environment
• Provide day-to-day support of multiple environments such as: production, staging, and development in AWS and on-premise
• Build fully automated, highly elastic, cloud-orchestrated platforms over IaaS providers like AWS
• Work closely with other departments to resolve systems, application and customer issues
• Document and update procedures and processes as necessary
• Be flexible to perform additional duties as required
• This is an on-call position with a rotation schedule 24x7 (for escalations and incidents).

Required Skills:

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or MIS or equivalent experience
• Strong architectural understanding for heavily distributed applications (Micro Services), API management, and familiarity with Java, Tomcat, and Nginx
• Strong Linux fundamentals with hands-on across all stack
• Prior success in automating a real-world production environment
• 2+ Years of development experience
• 2+ Years DevOps or SRE with strong Linux administration experience
• Experience with ELK and Splunk with Graphite/Statsd and Grafana
• Experience with higher level network protocols including HTTP and REST
• Strong experience with AWS infrastructure
• Experience working in Agile and Scrum environment
• Experience with BitBucket, Docker, or Kubernetes
• Experience with CICD tools such as Jenkins, and Terraform
• Strong experience with Kafka, Zookeeper, Mulesoft, Redis, RabbitMQ, a MUST, especially Kafka
• Strong Chef experience with accompanying Ruby knowledge.
• Data Center experience is a plus
• Proven analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Must exhibit strong written, verbal and listening communication skills
• Ability and desire to thrive in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment
• Experience working in a highly regulated environment (i.e. Banking, Payment etc.)
