Sr. DevOps Engineer

A high-growth startup in the Buckhead area is looking for a Sr. DevOps Engineer. The company has over 2,500 customers in 60+ countries that rely on them for continuous event monitoring, quickly remediating threats, and fully automating policy enforcement.

Their products live in the cloud on Google’s Cloud Platform. Their Microservices technology stack includes AngularJS on the front end, Java (primarily), Scala, and Go on the application side, and a mix of relational and NoSQL solutions on the back end including MySQL, Cassandra, ElasticSearch, Hadoop, and Google’s Cloud Datastore. They handle eye-popping amounts of data and requests using stream processing technologies such as Kafka and Flink.

Responsibilities:

• Delivering on system SLAs by implementing necessary best practices
• Monitor systems and take corrective actions per guidelines
• Working with our Security Team to implement various controls and resolve vulnerabilities
• Perform research and POC’s for new software to improve performance and stability
• Automating build processes for Java based microservice development projects
• Managing our Continuous Integration System
• Managing and Improving our Log Analysis systems to ensure optimal search and reporting times
• Troubleshooting and Supporting our Production and Non-Production Engineering environments and teams

Required Skills:

• Must have experience with Cloud IaaS (Focus: GCP, Alt: AWS, Azure)
• 2-4 years experience with Container Orchestration (Focus: Mesos/ Marathon, Alt: kubernetes, or: docker swarm)
• 1-2 years experience with Configuration Management Tooling (Focus: Chef, Alt: Puppet, Ansible, Salt)
• Service Discovery (Server side and client side: Registrator, consul-template, spring cloud consul)
• Hashicorp Products (Consul, Terraform, Packer etc..)
• ELK Stack (distributed logging architectures)
• Excited by a start-up culture and open environment

Preferred Skills:

• Kafka experience is a “great plus”
• Kubernetes experience is a “strong plus”
• Haproxy/Nginx experience is a “nice to have”
