Mid Ruby Developer

Our client in the Dunwoody area is looking for a fullstack Mid Level Ruby Developer to help design and build web applications for a growing start-up. 

Responsibilities:

• Planning, designing, and developing new features and applications to help improve accuracy and proficiency of the company’s processes
• Maintaining existing systems that are used company-wide to valuate, procure, authenticate, and sell watches
• Supporting users of our systems so they can use them correctly to increase efficiency in their jobs
• Discovering ways to improve the technology to help improve the business processes
• Writing and maintaining reports used by management and users to track person and company-wide status and goals
• Guiding, training, and supporting new developers, both onsite and third-party
• Maintaining servers used for internal applications, including deploys, updates, and ensuring uptime

Requirements:

• 2+ years of experience with Ruby on Rails, along with other common libraries such as RSpec
• Experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript with common libraries like JQuery, Bootstrap, Foundation, and Angular
• Familiarity with Linux and supporting applications (i.e. Apache, Nginx, IPTables, etc.)
• Experience designing clean, maintainable, well-documented REST APIs
• Ability to write code that is easily maintainable and expandable by others
• Ability to read, maintain, and expand code written by others
• Understanding of fundamental design principles behind a scalable application
• Experience with PostgreSQL and MySQL
• Able to implement automated testing platforms and unit tests
• Proficient understanding of Git and Github
• Familiarity with continuous integration
• Familiarity with AWS and basic DevOps
